Parliamentary Committee visits Anıtkabir on its way to Ankara for meetings at the Turkish Grand National Assembly
The Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the Republic of Turkey visited Anıtkabir on its way to Ankara for talks at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
According to the statement made by the Parliament, the delegation included UBP MP Emrah Yeşilırmak, Chairman of the Committee, CTP MP Filiz Besim, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan, CTP MP Devrim Barçın, CTP MP Sami Özuslu and Independent MPs Ayşegül Baybars and Jale Refik Rogers.
After walking along the Lion's Way at Anıtkabir, the delegation laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, and observed a moment of silence.
The delegation then went to the Misak-ı Milli Tower. Here, Committee Chairman Emrah Yeşilırmak wrote the following in the Anıtkabir special book:

As the Chairman and members of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we are proud and excited to be in your presence. We are here today as a sign of the value you attach to the Turkish youth and the deep trust you have in them. We are very happy to be here on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, which you established with your principles and profound world view.
As in the past, the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus continue to struggle hand in hand and heart to heart as an indivisible whole. The fact that the Republic of Turkey is economically, socially, culturally, technologically and militarily strong and has a voice in the world is of vital importance for the rights and interests of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East show us once again that the survival of the Republic of Turkey, which you established, is of decisive importance not only for Turkey but also for us and our region.
With the views you have put forward for the Turkish nation, the enthusiasm and inspiration we have received from your esteemed personality, we continue to move forward in the direction you have shown with the motto “Peace at Home, Peace in the World”. Today, our duty is to carry the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to ever higher levels with your thoughts and guidance, and to work for the cooperation and solidarity of the Motherland Republic of Turkey. I promise in your spiritual presence that we will always work hard for our country, homeland and flag, no matter what task we have undertaken.
In your presence, we commemorate all the heroes of our struggle for independence, our beloved martyrs and heroic veterans with mercy, gratitude and thanksgiving. May your soul rest in peace.”
DELEGATION'S CONTACTS
During the day, the delegation is expected to hold meetings with the TBMM Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee and the TBMM Public Works, Reconstruction, Transportation and Tourism Committee.
In addition, the delegation is expected to attend a dinner hosted by Süleyman Soylu, Chairman of the TBMM Interior Commission, in honor of the delegation in the Marble Hall of the TBMM this evening.
